150 million RMB award to Meizhou, Zhaoqing and Heyuan in double transfers

Governor Huang Huahua pointed out on a meeting yesterday that the Double Transfers had a very good start with the speed up of the Industrial Transfer Park projects. To encourage the cities to further involve in the provinces Industry and Labor Transfers (dubbed as double transfers) move, the province awarded Meizhou, Zhaoqing and Heyuan 500 million each for their Industry Transfer Parks development on the meeting .

The three cities briefed their plans in developing their industry transfer parks with the price they got respectively. Besides, Shaoguan and Qingyuan reported on their preparation to start industry transfer park projects.

Governor Huang, in his speech, said the province has now established a mechanism and issued a series of policies to support the "Double Transfers Move".

And the construction of the industry transfer parks has been accelerated, he added. Currently, there are altogether 28 provincial industry transfer parks, each less-developed city has at least one. The input added up to 6.8 billion RMB while the contracts valued 67.7 billion. Among the 636 contracted projects, 225 have started operation, and these industry parks now employ a total over 80,000 workers. Till end of July, the province has given vocational training to nearly 100,000 local farmers, and helped 210,000 farmers to find jobs in enterprises.

Huang also said that the three award-winning parks set a very good example for other parks and stimulate the parks competition for more resource from the province and the investors.

Huang urged the provincial departments and municipal governments to continue their focus on the industry park planning and construction and the pilot park competition. Efforts should also go to attract more foreign and domestic investments on high-end service sector, advanced engineering and high tech industries. The local governments should also organize more vocational training for the farmers and help them to find jobs in industry transfer parks. And a joint conference system will be established and the coordination will be improved.
